2020 Audi Q6 Rumors, e-Tron, Release Date

First spy photos of something that could be the 2020 Audi Q6
are here. We are still waiting for the confirmation by the
German carmaker, but it is just a matter of time. By then, we
can only speculate when is the release date and what will be
the price of the new member of the crossover SUV family.

The new Q6 is one of the last models to appear. Audi claimed
rights for an entire Q1-Q9 segment. Recently, Q2 and Q8 joined the
lineup, and now we are missing four numbers – Q1, Q4, Q6, and
Q9. From what we believe that is 2020 Audi Q6, fans will be
thrilled by its coupe-SUV design. The carmaker seems to follow
its German rival, BMW, which produces regular and coupe-like
SUVs.

So far we know that 2020 Audi Q6 will have an all-electric
version. The e-Tron model will be pretty powerful with nearly
500 horsepower. Well, we still don’t hear it officially, but
the new electric SUV will probably come with Q6 badge on it.

Besides the more aggressive exterior design, the new 2020 Audi
Q6 will get a long list of interior equipment and features. The
premium SUV needs to compete with likes of Cadillac XT6,
BMW X4,
Lincoln MKC.

2020 Audi Q6 Spy Photos and Design

The new 2020 Audi Q6 hasn’t been spied yet. But, its cousin, A6
Allroad wagon is going through final tests. This vehicle will
be the base for the new crossover SUV and we will find a lot of
similarities between them. But, heavily covered, the A6
Allspace is not unveiling too much. First of all, the Q6 will
stand higher and it will be taller. Also, the back of the
vehicle is getting a boxier shape. Not as much as Q5, but with it, the
SUV can take more cargo on the road.

Front fascia will be classic Audi. Aggressive grille with a
four-ring badge on it, slim headlights, and huge air vents.
Well, it seems like a revisited Q5. But,
that is exactly what we expected.

Also, we could take notes from the premiere of the new e-Tron
prototype. Although we used to see futuristic models at first
appearances, this time Audi showed a production-ready vehicle.
So, don’t be surprised if the e-Tron turns into the 2020 Audi
Q6. The coupe-like rear end draws attention and you will see
more similarities up front.

2020 Q6 Specs

Before we move to the electric SUV, let’s analyze what kind of
powertrain 2020 Audi Q6 can use. It is obvious that SUV will
take a spot between Q5 and Q7. That means its
stablemates are going to borrow the drivetrain. Both of them
are using the same lineup of two drivetrains. The smaller
displacement is a 2.0-liter turbo-four unit, while the bigger
one is 3.0-l V6, also turbocharged for the maximum outputs.

Well, power and torque outcomes are slightly different. The
Q5 returns
252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque with a 2.0 engine, while the
Q7 can
produce 248 hp. With a larger displacement, bigger SUV creates
329 hp and 325 lb-ft, and compact crossover 354 horsepower and
370 pound-feet of twist. What’s more, the lighter Q5 is also
returning better gas mileage.

Now, let’s get back to the 2020 Audi Q6. Definitely, both
engines will be ready for the new SUV. Outputs should be
somewhere between indicated levels for Q5 and Q7. One thing is
sure – the famous Quattro system will be the only option. No
2WD will be in the offer for the Q6. An RS version is probable,
but not right from the first edition. It is going to be the
part of the first update a season after the launching date.

2020 Audi Q6 e-Tron All-Electric SUV

The e-Tron SUV is official. Audi even announced plans of
production for this model. It will be built in Belgium and the
company will start delivering it very soon. Still, we don’t
know which model will be used as the base for this one.
Definitely, there are four free slots in Q-lineup. We are
pretty sure it will be the Q6.

The plan is to build a SUV that is capable to go 300 miles in a
single charge. This is an optimistic plan, having in mind that
even smaller cars can’t reach such distance. But, the
technology is evolving, and the big 2020 Audi Q6 e-Tron will
have enough space to take a huge battery. The space is not a
problem, but the weight of the electric power generator could
be.

According to plans, the power output could go up to 500 hp.
Well, there are always huge differences between a concept
vehicle and production model. If we downgrade these outputs, we
can get something realistic. A SUV with 400 hp and 200-250
miles of range could happen next season. 500 horsepower and 300
miles, well, not so.
