The hashtag #helloevoque will take you to the latest photos of
the all-new 2020 Range Rover Evoque. The first impressions are
great. This compact crossover SUV is perfect for an urban
drive. Agile and pretty powerful, it can be used both for every
day commuting, or for longer trips. Even if you want an
off-road adventure, the AWD system supports multiple drive
modes. The changes on the Evoque are big and the UK carmaker is
launching the second generation of the crossover after ten
Well, the competition is very tough in the compact segment. To
be competitive with rivals, Land Rover had to refresh its
offer. Well, its premium segment is not so cheap, with a
starting price above $40,000. Buyers can pick multiple options
and packages for larger SUVs. But, the versatility and comfort
you will find in 2020 Range Rover Evoque are not so easy to
match or beat.
2020 Range Rover Evoque Changes
So, the crossover is heading into a new generation. Many
exterior changes will refresh the look of the 2020 Range Rover
Evoque. However, the overall look is pretty much the same. The
first thing you will notice is the new front fascia. Evoque
finds inspiration in the latest Velar SUV. Another detail is
borrowed from the sibling – door handles. The new grille,
headlights, and bumper will definitely draw attention. The
panoramic moonroof is standard on the new crossover. A two-door
version is not coming for the second-gen vehicle.
The cockpit of the 2020 Range Rover Evoque is all-new. Although
this is the compact crossover, there is plenty of room inside.
Premium model is offering premium features and materials. The
leather is covering steering wheel and seats. A 16-way power
adjusting is available for the driver’s bucket. There are also
some unique details, such is suede materials called Kvadrat.
The JLR is thinking green, and the proof is recycled materials
in the body of luxurious Evoque crossover SUV.
Equipment is making the premium SUV different from the
competition. Well, the new 2020 Range Rover Evoque seems to be
a step ahead of all its rivals. One of the great new features
is a speed limit. You can raise the speed up to the desired
level, push the button, and then you can’t go above this speed.
Commands on the dashboard are clear and simple. This was not
easy since the crossover has a lot of functions. A 10-inch
screen is large enough to offer a clean look. From there you
can set modes of the AWD system. Also, a Meridian audio system
boosts the overall impression of the quiet cabin.
2020 Range Rover Evoque Specs
Under the bonnet of the 2020 Range Rover Evoque is a turbo-four
unit capable to produce 270 lb-ft of torque and 246 hp. This is
a high output for a compact crossover. But, there are some
premium models with more power. So, you will have to turn to
competition if you want extra hp and lb-ft of torque. The
energy produced under the hood of new Evoque goes through a
nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is the only
one confirmed by now. We still don’t know if the crossover is
getting a 2WD.
Well, the green nature of the 2020 Range Rover Evoque is shown
by the hybrid engine. In this case, electric motors are
upgrading fuel economy and overall outputs of the crossover.
This configuration adds 50 ponies and 25 pound-feet of torque.
Top speed remains at 143 mph and the EPA will announce fuel
consumption later. We assume the crossover will return around
25 mpg average. With a hybrid setup, the mileage will raise up
to 30 mpg both for the city and highway drive.
The first tests are showing promises. The 2020 Evoque will be
able to run off the road. However, you will have to pay
attention and set the proper drive mode. Automatic is not so
reliable. Still, the Evoque seems to be a good choice among the
competition. We don’t count off-road tuned models.
2020 Range Rover Evoque Price and Competition
The new 2020 Range Rover Evoque will cost at least $43,000.
This is not a huge boost over the previous edition. However,
the upper trim levels will go above $56,000 (First Edition). A
mid-range offer is an R-Dynamic trim with special packages for
interior and exterior. The First Edition is heavily packed with
21-inch wheels. So far we could pick only 20-inches. Park
package with a 360-degree camera and parking sensors are
The competition in the compact premium segment is more than
tough. From German carmakers, we have alternatives in Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes GLC. Japanese
companies will offer Acura RDX, Lexus NX, or Infiniti QX50. Don’t forget that
the new Lincoln Nautilus is here. Cadillac XT5 is a growing star in
